This plugin is very robust in its feature set. I am only using the banner ads portion of it, but it also includes the following modules:

1. Ad Manager (this is how I manage my Banner Ads)
2. PayPal Module – sell ads from your site and get paid via PayPal
3. Affililate Module – This module enables you to turn readers into affiliates. Once signed up, affiliates are given a unique link to promote your blog with. They then collect commission on any sales made by advertisers who come via that link.

I found a seemingly cool product called WordPress on Crack. It is a series of video tutorials on how to create WordPress Plugins. It comes with 11 plugins and the videos on how they were made.

Sounds cool, but I am a bit skeptical, and wanted to get some feedback before shelling out my $97.00.

Just wondering if anyone has purchased this package, and, if so, what your experience has been.

If it lives up to its promise, then its cost is just a fraction of what you could make selling a plugin or even giving one away and building goodwill on your site.

Hope to see some feedback here – so I’m not just talking to myself.

Create posts for your website automatically, simply though the magic of RSS feeds.

Ok.This technology is not new, and at first glance I thought this looked very similar to the free WP-o-matic plugin. I have played around with the WP-o-matic plugin, but I did not like the lack of control over content and the lack of support by the developer, therefore I never used it in any production site. It’s really too bad though, because it looked like a promising plugin.

Autoblogged to the rescue.

The issues I had with WP-o-matic, are addressed with this software. There is a support forum and there are plenty of tools to control the content that is generated using this plugin.

Here is the feature set as described by the author of the plugin:

I must say this list is pretty impressive. There is one caveat however. You must be using WordPress 2.5+ to use this plugin.

I am going to be purchasing the multisite version of this software, as I have some ideas brewing for this site and some additional sites I run. I’ll keep you all posted with my progress so you can see this thing in action.

I purchased the Developer’s License of this software and it works great! I am very happy with my purchase.

I did have an issue initially with getting the YouTube feeds to work, but the helpful support rep informed me that YouTube had just made a change to their API, and had an update emailed to me the following day. Now that’s what I call support!

The software is easy to use and is also very powerful. Here is a sample series of posts I created using the built-in YouTube Query:

How I am using this plugin on this site
If you are like me you want your site to look clean, crisp and professional, but let’s face it – it takes time to do. It takes enough time to add an image to the post, let alone updating thumbnails throughout your site each time. This is where this plugin really shines!

I am using Viva Thumbs on this site and it has made image management a snap. The image you see to the left is automagically produced using Viva Thumbs. As are the smaller images in the category listings.
In fact, I am also using the Image Carousel Plugin, so I simply upload a single image using the image uploader and it is added to the image carousel (shows last 20 posts) on the home page, also to the category listing and then the post page itself. You can customize the size of the image and even add a reflection (like I have done to the image on the left). It’s a dream come true, and continues to save me tons of time.

What does it do?

Well, in a nutshell, it allows you to create a dynamic image gallery for your posts. Please be aware that this is not an image gallery where you see a larger version of the selected image (that is another plugin). Instead, this plugin will create a scrollable image gallery of links to your posts.

Here is how I use it.

1. First thing I do is grab a screen shot of a theme or plugin page, and save it to my desktop
2. Login to WP and Create a New Post
3. Fill in all the text boxes, and using the image uploader, upload the new image
4. Here is the COOL part. You don’t even need to insert the image into your post, it just has to be the first image uploaded within that post (you can add the image to the post if you wish).
5. The plugin is smart enough to check if there is an image assigned and creates the thumbnail and adds it to the gallery on the fly. How slick is that?

• images can be resized, but you need to make a couple of tweaks to the code
